Mugler Alien Goddess Intense - Review

Now that summer is slowly coming to an end, my fragrance wardrobe also adapted to that. Now, of course, you do not have to align your fragrances to the seasons, or can just associate anything you want with any season. This time, I found a perfume that fits perfectly into the late summer and fall.

Mugler is famous for its artsy bottle designs. The bottle of Alien resembles a talisman. It is one of the most unique and creative perfume bottle designs for me. You can see the dark honey-like liquid through the glass when the light shines through it. Otherwise, the bottle does not seem transparent. The dark golden color perfectly matches the actual scent. 

The scent revolves around vanilla; it is the strongest note. Other strong notes are Jasmine (as in the original Alien, but here it does not smell "dirty" in the slightest) and Benzoin (this is what sets it apart from Alien Goddess, it makes it balsamic and gives it more depth).

Let's get to the notes:

Top notes: Bergamot, Coconut

Heart notes: Jasmine, Jasmine tea

Base notes: Bourbon vanilla, Benzoin, Cashmeran

This fragrance is very sweet, and it is almost gourmand to me. There is a creaminess that is only a little reminiscent of sunscreen, it might be due to the coconut. This is what makes the fragrance suitable for summer. Cashmeran is a synthetic note that smells woody and musky, and gives the scent, together with the Jasmine tea note, which is unfortunately not all that noticeable, a really cozy vibe.

Overall, the scent is really likable. You might know that Alien is a controversial scent. Alien Goddess and Goddess Intense have little similarity to the original Alien which is bold and unapologetic. I would say that it is a pleasant scent for most people, but nothing new. It is something that I would find comfortable to wear, but it does not stand out for me. 

However, the greatest strength of this perfume is its longevity and sillage. This scent is very noticeable and lasts throughout the whole day. 

If you would like a sweet easy-reach fragrance for this season, I recommend you would give this one a try.
