Mac Cosmetics Frost Lipstick - New York Apple - Review

I own many Mac lipsticks, but this particular one has got to be one of my favorites. I am finally going to review it today.

It has the classic bullet packaging of a regular Mac lipstick. You really cannot go wrong with it, the only downside may be that you cannot easily distinguish one Mac lipstick from the other if you have many. The Frost finish has the same packaging as many other finishes, and the color is not detectable from the bullet.

The Frost finish includes many interesting shades that I will definitely review in the future too. The actual shades differ from the shade of the small glitter particles slightly, and that is what makes the shades themselves unique. New York Apple is a muted blue-based red with pink glitter particles in it. Seeing it in pictures, it resembles the color of red wine the most. It has a pearly, frosty and metallic finish. One might think that this finish may make the lipstick flashy, but it is more wearable than a bright color in a matte finish (e.g. Ruby Woo in the Retro Matte finish). Even though it is metallic, it does not highlight the creases of your lips or grasps onto your lips too strongly at all.

The application is slightly streaky when swatched on my arm, but this does not happen on my lips at all.

In terms of longevity this is a safe one, since the shine does not fade within hours of wear. It is less long wearing than the Matte formula, but also more hydrating. In terms of longevity and texture, the Frost finish is a no brainer.
