Charlotte Tilbury - Eyes to Mesmerise Cream Eyeshadow - Rose Gold, Golden Eclipse - Review

Today I am showing you one of my beloved Christmas gifts. It is a quite popular product, the Eyes to Mesmerise Cream Eyeshadows, and I bought it in the shades Rose Gold and Golden Eclipse.

They come in frosted glass containers that have a luxe feel to them. I like how much product cream eyeshadows contain, given that these are perfect one and done shades anyway. Since many like to apply cream products with their fingers, a downside may be that you cannot reach far into the container if you have longer nails. I however find them prettier by using a brush anyway.

Rose Gold

Rose Gold is a warm-toned copper with a metallic finish.

These are very pigmented and swatch really well. I only used a small amount on my hand. I find this shade more versatile and "universally flattering", than the Pillow Talk shade is supposed to be. Although it is warm-toned, it is not too warm or bronzed. The metallic sheen is not too reflective.

On the lid it manages to blend in easily, without making a flashy appearance. Applying it with a finger is much harder, trying to blend it will only move it around. I used a fluffier brush to apply it and had no problems though. When not going in with an eyeshadow primer, this will crease easily and early. With the Artdeco eyeshadow primer I normally use it wears much better. For the price though, I wish it had a better performance by itself.

Golden Eclipse

Golden Eclipse is a warm-toned copper with a shimmery metallic finish.

Here you can see Rose Gold in comparison to Golden Eclipse. Golden Eclipse is much more warm-toned, has more yellow undertones and has a shimmer to it, that Rose Gold does not have at all. You can see it especially when blended out.

This shade was a little easier to work with. It does not fade or crease that easily. It seems that it has more grip to the skin in general. It is much easier to apply and blend.
It is suitable especially for this season, either Christmas or New Years, but since it is not too pigmented, it can be worn on a regular day as well.

Final Thoughts

I really recommend this formula, if cream eyeshadows have been something you have been looking for. These are completely different to powder eyeshadows, they have a texture that is easier to work with and can be sheered out really well. Since they do vary in their finishes and formulas, you might consider reading reviews before buying. The swatches on the website are not really helpful in that matter.
In this line there are many beautiful wearable shades, you might not need several. They are also a good cruelty free alternative to the Tom Ford cream eyeshadows.
